The Dieppe Co-Op Project
More and more, the Dieppe population is enthusiastic about the possibility of having a friendly grocery store that reflects who they are and provides them with a feeling of belonging. The proposed formula for the store is a co-operative, meaning that the members own the store and support it by shopping there.
Volunteers have done some preliminary work and research within the community to determine the feasibility of having a food co-operative in the region. The research has shown that the people of Dieppe are indeed interested in going forward with the Co-op grocery store. They now face the challenge of recruiting more than 2,200 families.
The grocery store will be approximately 31,500 sq. ft. and will offer full grocery and produce selection, deli, meat counter, seafood section, pharmacy, gas bar and a café/eating area.
